About us

The Spanish Civilization Site became on-line August 3, 1988 at Geocities as "The Spanish Civilization Site", a site for glimpses about Spain's history through Civ2 scenarios. Since June 23,1999 the site is hosted by Apolyton. The responsibles of Apolyton also gave us a forum  in 2001 where we talk about a lot of things... including Civilization.

Our Staff

Jesús Balsinde:

El Jefe. Also known as "Jay Bee".

Founding Father. A great Civilization player and one of the most well-known Civ2 scenario designers ever. He created this website mainly to have a place where his scenarios could be found. Today he's the moderator of our forum and has retired from Civ2 scenario creation.

Miguel Blázquez:

Retired.

Founding Father. He was the technician who, with a MacIntosh and a lot of patience, created the first version of the website because Jay Bee's HTML abilities weren't outstanding at that time.

Javier Arriaga:

Currante. Also known as "jasev"

He took charge of the Civ2 section of the site November 15, 2002; he had created a few Civ2 scenarios and had his own personal website, whose contents were inmediatly added to this site. He's also the one who translated the whole website from english to spanish. He's the only remaining active webmaster of the site, and he's always looking for external collaborations.

Federico Alfonso Sahurí:

Semi-Retired. Also known as "Alfonso".

He became webmaster of the unexistent Civ3 section November 15, 2002; he's the responsible of giving the Spanish Site a new look and for a time provided a good service to the Civ3 community. Unfortunately, his many duties forced him to retire, but we hope he'll be back someday.

Javier Muñoz:

Writer and Programmer. Also known as "yaroslav".

He's our favourite collaborator. He's written columns, articles about civ2 scenarios and strategies for the game. He's the creator of the "Diplomacy PBEM Editor", a program written in Java that allows Play-by-e-mail Civ2 players to handle a much improved diplomacy. Our website is the home for this program and we're proud of it.
